Detroit voted for reparations…NOW WHAT? Let’s Detroit voted for reparations…NOW WHAT?

This Saturday at 2pm, 2120 Russell St. with Zoom option.
What do YOU want? Let your voice be heard.
Conversation will be facilitated by community leader Marie Sims.
Hundreds of DPSCD support staff being laid off for Hundreds of DPSCD support staff being laid off for the 23-24 school year.
This is an attack on union jobs, on Black women, and most importantly our children's futures!
Public pressure forced the board to rescind layoff notices for attendance agents - about 40 employees. 150+ more are still on the chopping block. It's up to US, the people, to get everyone else's jobs back! We NEED support staff in our schools!

Fight for our children's futures! Come to the board meeting on May 16th at 5:30pm at Western International High School
Community let's rise up & call in in solidarity wi Community let's rise up & call in in solidarity with tenants at Oak Village Square! These seniors are facing unsafe conditions and inhumane treatment, as though this is a prison and not their home. Call Volunteers of America and HUD and tell them to stop ALL evictions against Black seniors in this housing complex and address these issues immediately.
‼️mutual aid request🚨 Treasure Jackson orga ‼️mutual aid request🚨
Treasure Jackson organized and fought back against unlivable conditions at the Four Corners apartment building - now she needs our support.

After being forced out by bad conditions and a retaliatory eviction, treasure needs $2800 to cover moving expenses. She works about 60 hours a week and takes care of her son and disabled dad.

Please give what you can and share with your network.

Thanks to everyone who came out for another import Thanks to everyone who came out for another important grassroots discussion on reparations and self determination for Black people facilitated by the one and only Marie Sims!
Thank you to all the tenants, organizers, and home Thank you to all the tenants, organizers, and home defenders who showed up today at the 36th district court to stand up and speak out. If every eviction is an act of violence, then every action to stop eviction is an act of love.
